Ulysses' Shelter: building writers-in-residence network

organizes literary residences for young writers, translators and editors. The project began at the end of 2018 in three locations - Ljubljana, Larissa and Pomena on the island of Mljet, organized by Sandorf Publishing from Zagreb, in partnership with Slovenian Writers' Society (DSP) from Ljubljana and publishing house Thraka from Larissa. Each resident spends three weeks at each location from December 2018 to October 2019. The network of partners has since extended to include Literary Association Krokodil from Belgrade, Literature Across Frontiers from Wales, Inizjamed from Malta, Culture Reset from the Czech Republic, and Mallorca Film Commission from Spain. The idea of the project is to bring together artists from around the world and expose the creative potential of various European locations. Tovar.hr is the main means of informing about the Ulysses' Shelter project - about the residents, their work, and events within the project (readings, workshops, conferences and social events with residents).

The official opening of the second cycle of the Ulysses' Shelter project

On Sunday, February 2nd, at 5 P.M., at the House of Culture in Babino Polje on Mljet (the address is Zabrežje 47), a conference will be held regarding the official opening of the second cycle of the Ulysses' Shelter project, a European network of exchange literary residencies for young authors. We will be presenting the young writers, poets and translators who will be staying on Mljet this year as part of the literary exchange, and we will meet two young greek authors, Dimitrios Karakitsos and Thomas Tsalapatis, who will be spending the next fifteen days at the Ulysses' Shelter in Pomena on Mljet.
