International Library of Poetry

The idea of The International Library of Poetry is to enable users across the world access to poetry in different languages. The library fund will consist of books collected through donations under the Ulysses' Shelter project, while residents and project organizers will perform the role of librarians during their stay on the island of Mljet - they will work on cataloging and lending of donated books to interested readers around the world. On you will be able to find a catalog of publications and borrow the books.

Open Call for Book donations

Dear librarians and other book lovers,

The international literary residency Ulysses' Shelter on island Mljet would like to invite You to donate books for our International Library of Poetry. The Library is part of our project of literary residencies Ulysess' Shelter on island Mljet, co-funded by the EU programme Creative Europe and the Croatian Ministry of Culture, and supported by Public Institution Mljet National Park and the Municipality of Mljet. The Library as such is crucial for our project of literary exchange both as a physical space and as a virtual database of important and relevant data for any social, cultural or artistic context. The International Library of Poetry will contain a large collection of poetry books in as many different languages and connect the remote island with poets and readers all over the world.

We accept exclusively donations in poetry books (collections or anthologies) in any language, no matter how small or large they are.

You can follow all the information about the progress of the project of the International Library of Poetry on our page

The address for sending the donations is:
