Ulysses' Shelter: building writers-in-residence network

organizes literary residences for young writers, translators and editors. The project will begin at the end of 2018 at three locations - in Ljubljana, Larissa and in Pomena on the island of Mljet, organized by Sandorf publishing house from Zagreb, in partnership with Slovenian Writers' Society (DSP) from Ljubljana and publishing house Thraka from Larissa. Each resident will spend three weeks on each location from December 2018 to October 2019, and the idea of the project is to gradually extend the network of partners to other European countries in the future and to bring together artists from around the world and expose the creative potential of various European locations. Tovar.hr is the main means of informing about the Ulysses' Shelter project - about the residents, their work, and events within the project (readings, workshops, conferences and social events with residents).

SURVEY: Emerging Writers in Europe and International Residencies

The survey, conducted by Literature Across Frontiers in cooperation with Mercator International in the framework of the Ulysses Shelter project of exchange residencies, aims to research and assess mobility provision for emerging European writers and the benefits of international residential stays for their creative and professional development. The Ulysses Shelter project is coordinated by Sandorf (Croatia) and co-financed by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

The definition of emerging writer follows the definition used by the project: writers in any genre who are in the early stages of their creative career and have between one and three publications. Please respond to the survey if you fall into this category. Answers to all questions are required and their analysis will be anonymised.

If you wish to respond to an additional interview, please indicate this at the end of the survey by inserting your email address. By responding to the survey you agree with the processing of your answers and data for the purpose of producing a report on the stated subject and in full compliance with current data protection legislation.

The survey is only available in English and takes a maximum of 10 minutes to complete.

Deadline: 14 October 2024
